MARN: 2619599
Amanda brings together more than three years of migration experience within the WA State Government, a strong technical foundation in Australian migration law and firsthand experience navigating skilled migration.
Before founding NUA Migration, Amanda worked as a Senior Migration Case Manager within Migration Services WA’s Construction Migration Office, at the point where two significant workforce challenges meet: WA businesses struggling to recruit and retain skilled workers, and skilled migrants struggling to connect with employers willing and able to sponsor them.
Her work involved direct engagement with employers, industry and skilled migrants, connecting them with WA migration programs, employment resources and available support. This included employer-sponsored and regional pathways, WA DAMA options, skilled migration programs and initiatives designed to help address workforce shortages and offset eligible migration and relocation costs.
This experience gave Amanda a practical understanding of migration from the government, employer and migrant perspectives. It also demonstrated the importance of looking beyond the immediate visa to understand the longer-term workforce, migration and permanent residency objectives.
Amanda holds a Graduate Diploma in Migration Law and Practice, completed with High Distinction. She was named to the Dean’s Merit List twice and received the Migration Law and Practice Excellence Award.
As a Registered Migration Agent, Amanda combines this strong technical foundation with practical experience of how migration pathways operate in real-world circumstances.
Her migration experience also sits within a broader 12-year career with the Western Australian Government, including leadership and operational roles. This background has shaped Amanda’s approach to complex processes: understand the objective first, identify the requirements and potential issues early, and provide a clear pathway forward.
Amanda also understands migration from a personal perspective.
She first came to Australia from Ireland on a Working Holiday visa in 2009. After returning home, she navigated occupation lists, points, English tests, skills assessments and the WA State Nomination process to find her way back.
Her subclass 190 permanent visa was granted in 2013 from offshore. She has since built her career and family life in Western Australia and become an Australian citizen.
Having experienced skilled migration herself, worked within government and supported employers and migrants through the WA migration system, Amanda brings a perspective that extends beyond simply preparing a visa application.
At Nua Migration, her approach is clear, strategic and practical: understand what the individual or business is ultimately trying to achieve, assess the available pathways and develop the migration strategy around that objective.
Amanda is building Nua around quality over quantity. Clients work directly with Amanda throughout their matter and receive careful preparation, honest advice and clear communication at each stage.
Nua means “new” in Irish, reflecting the opportunities and new beginnings migration can create and the belief that behind every application is something bigger: a career, a family, a business or a decision about where to build a future.
