Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 October 2026
NUA Migration is a Perth-based migration practice led by Amanda O’Shaughnessy, Registered Migration Agent | MARN 2619599. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us, attend a consultation or engage our services.
Information we collect
For an initial enquiry, we collect the contact details and circumstances you choose to provide. Our detailed enquiry form may request your occupation, qualifications, visa status, family circumstances and other information relevant to assessing your needs. Optional fields do not need to be completed for a general enquiry.
If you engage us, your matter may require identity and passport documents, immigration and travel history, employment and financial records, qualifications, relationship evidence and information about family members. Health, criminal-record or other sensitive information may be needed for particular applications. We seek your consent to collect sensitive information where required by law, unless a legal exception applies.
How we collect and use information
We collect information through enquiries, email, telephone, Microsoft Teams consultations and Migration Manager questionnaires and document uploads. Where appropriate and authorised, we may also obtain information from your employer, nominated representatives, government departments, assessing bodies or other people involved in your matter.
We use this information to respond to you, assess migration options, provide advice, prepare and manage applications, communicate about your matter, administer fees and meet professional and legal obligations. Providing incomplete or inaccurate information may limit the advice or services we can offer. You may make a general enquiry without identifying yourself where practicable, but individual advice and applications usually require your identity and circumstances.
When information may be shared
We treat client information as confidential. Information may be provided, where relevant and authorised, to the Department of Home Affairs, State nomination authorities, skills-assessing and licensing bodies, employers or sponsors, and other representatives or professionals involved in your matter. Disclosure may also occur where required or authorised by law.
Technology providers process information to operate our website, email, consultations and client systems. We use Squarespace for this website, Microsoft Outlook for email, Microsoft Teams for video consultations and Migration Manager for client matters and the enquiry/client portal. We do not sell client information or share it with third parties for their marketing.
Online services and overseas processing
Our providers may process, store or access information in Australia and overseas, including the United States and other countries where they or their service providers operate. The locations depend on the service, account arrangements and your matter. We do not represent that all information stays in Australia. If your matter requires an overseas recipient, we will discuss relevant disclosures with you as appropriate and follow applicable confidentiality and privacy obligations.
Further information is available in the Squarespace Privacy Policy, Microsoft Privacy Statement and Migration Manager Privacy Policy. These providers’ policies supplement this policy and describe their own practices.
Website information and cookies
Squarespace may collect technical and usage information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages visited and referral sources to provide, secure and analyse the website. Cookies and similar technologies may support site functionality and analytics. The embedded Google Map may also send technical information to Google; see Google’s Privacy Policy.
You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking them may affect some features. Links to social media and external websites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Please review the privacy information on the enquiry portal before submitting a detailed assessment.
Keeping information secure and retaining records
We take reasonable steps to protect information against misuse, loss and unauthorised access, alteration or disclosure. Client documents can be exchanged through the Migration Manager portal. For a first enquiry, please provide a brief outline rather than emailing passports or other identity documents. No online service or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.
Registered migration agents must retain client files for seven years after the last action on the file, subject to applicable requirements. Other records are retained as needed for their purpose and legal obligations. Information no longer needed is securely destroyed or de-identified where permitted. A request to delete information may not override recordkeeping duties.
Access, correction and privacy complaints
You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, or raise a privacy concern, by contacting Amanda using the details below. We may need to verify your identity. We will consider your request or complaint and respond within a reasonable period. If access or correction is restricted by law or another applicable reason, we will explain the reason where permitted.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner for information about privacy complaints and whether it can consider your concern.
